My name is Estelle Louis-Pierre, and this is my testimony.
In July 2012, my husband and I found out we were expecting our first child. The pregnancy was normal, with the usual symptoms. I carried my daughter for 41 weeks. As her due date approached, I realized I didn’t feel any contractions. Once I got to the hospital, I discovered I was already in labor, with my cervix dilated to 4 cm. I was quickly admitted.
Once we got a room, many of my husband’s family and my family came to visit, especially since she was the first grandchild.
When Labor Stopped: Facing Fear and Medical Uncertainty
By the next day around noon, all my contractions came to a halt. I was dilated to 5 cm, and hours went by with no progress—my labor had stopped. The doctors began trying to figure out what was causing this. After examinations and medication, progress was still very slow.
Knowing what I know now, the doctors, in their science, were trying to understand what was happening. But where they were limited, God was in control. This meant the spiritual realm was highly active. I didn’t know it at the time, so I accepted all their negative diagnoses and feedback as my reality.
Spiritual Warfare in the Delivery Room

That night, we were still waiting for contractions to start again, but nothing changed. At that time, my family began interceding for me in prayer. By the next day, after hours of halted labor, I received more injections and an epidural.
By 10 a.m., contractions finally began again, and that gave me hope. With that hope, I prayed that my daughter would be born. I reassured myself that God wouldn’t bring me this far for me to lose either my life or my daughter.
A Thin Line Between Life and Death
Thankfully, by noon I received the green light to begin pushing. However, my daughter’s head became stuck. I had no strength left. I kept pushing, but nothing was happening. Her head wasn’t larger than normal, so there was no medical reason for this. I realized it was a last-minute delay—an attack from the kingdom of darkness. Once again, I was fighting for the birth of my daughter.
When the doctors noticed the delay had gone on longer than usual, they left to determine the next plan of action. Unfortunately, I was too far into labor to have a C-section. This became a life-threatening situation. I was crying, not knowing what to do.
God Gave Me Strength When I Had None

I noticed my nurse was losing patience with me, but I believe God redirected a midwife to my room—one who was not originally assigned to me. She came with a forcep vacuum to assist with the delivery. She spoke to me, explaining the severity of the situation. She said, “Estelle, not to scare you, but there is now a thin line between life and death to save you and your baby. You have already lost too much blood and iron. It is up to you to give one last push.”
I told her, “I have no more strength.”
Meanwhile, prayer was going on in the waiting room. This was serious warfare—both spiritual and natural.
At that moment, I prayed my final prayer to God. I told Him I respected whatever decision He would make and prayed over my soul.
Suddenly, I grabbed the edges of the bed and felt an internal strength come over me. As the midwife used the forcep vacuum, with me screaming and crying, Esther came out.
Esther’s Birth: A Miracle on April 29, 2013
Esther Louis-Pierre was born on April 29, 2013.
After celebration from the medical team and later our family, we welcomed our bundle of joy.
Another Test After Birth: Our NICU Journey

But the story didn’t end there.
That night, we faced another scare. After Esther’s feeding, she began coughing up milk uncontrollably, even from her nostrils. The nurse rushed in and called for her to be admitted to the NICU. I fell to the ground crying, not understanding why this was happening. Neither Esther nor I were stable, so we were separated.
My husband had already gone home, so I called him to tell him what was happening. He reassured me and said, “The same God who started it will also finish it.”
I asked. “You think so?”
He said “I know so.”
When Doctors Had No Answers, God Stepped In
Esther spent a month in the NICU because her stomach was damaged. During the long period she was stuck during labor, she swallowed too many toxins, which damaged her intestines and colon.
The doctors could not reassure us of her recovery. Most infants with this condition did not survive.
I thank God for my late pastor, Pastor Robert Chery. He came almost every day to visit, pray, and speak life over her. Many assumed he was her grandfather. We could barely even hold her. I would visit her crying, go home feeling defeated, abandoned, and wondering where God was.
Speaking Life Over My Daughter

After weeks of being connected to machines and undergoing treatment, the doctor decided to slowly take her off. It was now time to see whether she would live or die. He told me to pump milk to feed her and hold her, even though it could lead to her death. I felt weak.
Friends and family encouraged me to stop crying and believe. I fed her and spoke to her:
“You will live and not die.”
“You will be an Esther for your generation.” “You will make me proud.”
She looked at me as I spoke and finished her milk. Fifteen minutes passed. Thirty minutes passed. One hour passed. Two hours passed—she did not throw up. We waited to see if she would have a bowel movement. She did.
A Supernatural Healing Before Our Eyes
We were overjoyed. People were screaming. She was healed.
My faith went to another level when I saw God’s hand move in my daughter’s life and in mine.
Raising a Miracle Child Chosen for Kingdom Purpose
Today, Esther is 13 years old by God’s grace. I know she is set apart and born for kingdom purposes and more. I remind her often that she is a miracle child, that she carries an anointing, and she should stand as a soldier. When the enemy attacks your birth, it’s because you carry greatness.
If God Did It for Me, He Can Do It for You
If God can do it for me, He can do it for you—no matter the situation. God is a miracle worker and a promise keeper. He is able, in His timing, He will send you backup. I saw God show up for me. It showed me the God I serve, and that whatever giant stands in my way—or yours—your God is bigger.
